Remarks Found in estuaries, but can live temporarily in freshwater. Inhabits quiet rocks and corners of creeks and backwaters (Ref. 4833). Feeds on copepods, diatoms and minute crustacean larvae (Ref. 48443). Larvicidal fish and eats mosquito larvae. A suitable fish in malaria infected areas (Ref. 48443).
