Ecology of Lycodes esmarkii

Main Ref. Andriashev, A.P., 1986
Remarks Occurs at a temperature range of -0.4° to 5.0 °C. Optimal temperatures appear to range between 2.6° and 3.5°C. Inhabits soft bottom areas (Ref. 13532). Benthic (Ref. 58426). Feeds almost exclusively on ophiuroids (Ref. 13532). Consumed primarily benthic organisms (Ref. 51343).

Association remarks Recorded from 31 trawl hauls in moderate densities; species reported to be evenly distributed between 63°45' and 70°33'N at depths 310-1090 m, temperature between 1.0-5.3°C (Ref.34267). May suggest absence of aggregating behavior.
