Remarks Mainly herbivorous, its diet consisting of diatoms, blue-green and green algae, higher aquatic plants, insects and detritus (Ref. 4832). Has ventrally placed mouth and fimbriated horny lips which is highly adapted to bottom browsing (Ref. 56215).
