Ecology of Galaxias prognathus

Remarks Usually found in shallow, fast-flowing streams of the central South Island high country. It commonly reaches 60-70 mm in total length, with a maximum recorded length of 87 mm. Belong to a group of small, slender galaxiids which have a wholly freshwater life cycle.
