Remarks Found over hard bottoms (Ref. 26938) and sometimes over predominantly sandy bottoms (Ref. 8889). Associated with wrecks, reefs and rock outcroppings along outer continental shelf. Opportunistic benthic carnivore that preys mainly on mollusks, crabs, polychaetes and sea urchins (Ref. 8889).
