Remarks Occurs in the upper reaches of basins, may be abundantly caught in creeks with flowing waters, sandy to sandy-muddy bottoms, width 3 to 5 m and depth 0.3 to 2 m. Feeds by driving their snout into the substrate up to the eyes and drawing out dead snails, decaying leaves, worms or other benthic organisms.
