Remarks | Generally occurs in steep slopes and patch reefs. A diurnal species (Ref. 9626), it most commonly forms moderate-sized feeding-schools over reef tops, rising above the bottom to feed on plankton, mainly copepods. Often seen with Chromis cyanea (Ref. 9710). Planktivore (Ref. 33499, 57616). Also cleaned by Thalassoma noronhanum observed at Fernando de Noronha Archipelago off northeastern Brazil (Ref. 36301). Cleaned by Elacatinus figaro observed off the coast of São Paulo, southeastern Brazil (Ref. 40102). |
