Remarks Mainly found in freshwater, sometimes in brackish parts of lagoons and mangrove coastlines. Moves in schools. Can remain on mud bottom exposed to air during low tide (Ref. 26938). Estuarine species that uses mangrove creeks throughout its life cycle (Ref. 121951). Also found in murky intertidal zone, oceanic shore waters and freshwater streams (Ref. 121949). Feeds in exposed flat mud banks durig ebb tide, consumes mud, algae and arthropods (Ref. 121950).
