Remarks 'blenny' from Latin 'blennius', i.e., a sea fish (Ref. 11978), from Greek 'blennos', i.e., slime, a fish allied to 'kôbios'; Ewa is a place name west of Honolulu used as a direction term (p. 42 in Ref. 10340).
