Remarks | Formerly masked triggerfish (Ref. 3109). 'fish' from Germanic 'fiskaz' from same source as Latin 'piscis' from Indo-European word 'piskos' (p. 229 in Ref. 11979). In Triggerfishes, the second spine of the first dorsal acts as a trigger, locking the first spine of the first dorsal fin and if depressed, unlocks the first spine (from Ref. 5288).
