| Quote | Fourmanoir (1967) described this species as Jaydia hungi from the Gulf of Suez, which is subjectively invalid and secondarily preoccupied (when in Apogon) by Apogon hungi Fourmanoir & Do-Thi, 1965 (see Eschmeyer & Fricke, 2009); Red Sea populations are therefore in the synonymy of A. smithi (see Gon, 1996; Gon & Randall, 2003). |
